Thumbrot Terms of Use
These Terms cover Thumbrot, an iPhone game made of 5-second microgames, published by Alexandru Struta, an individual developer based in Romania (the “developer”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or playing the game you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don't use the game. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
1. Your licence to play
Thumbrot is free to download. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the game on Apple devices you own or control, for your own entertainment, as allowed by the App Store rules. The game, its code, microgames, artwork and sounds belong to the developer or to their licensors; you get a licence, not ownership.
Please don't cheat by exploiting bugs or changing the game or its save files, get around purchase checks, copy, resell or redistribute the game, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows. These limits apply only as far as the law permits.
2. Apple's Standard EULA
Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) applies to your licence of Thumbrot from the App Store and governs where it applies. These Terms add to it and do not replace it. Where the two differ, the Standard EULA wins for matters it covers. Apple is not responsible for supporting the game; we are.
3. Progress, coins and streaks
Your progress is saved only on your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud save, so deleting the app, losing your device or damaged data can lose your progress, and we cannot restore it. Restoring purchases brings back Premium and Remove Ads, not coins, streaks or other progress.
Coins and streak freezes are virtual items for use in the game. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, sold or moved to another player. Coins never expire, including coins you buy. You earn coins by winning microgames, with a bonus on every 10th win in a row within a run, by completing the daily challenge and, if you choose to watch an ad, by doubling a run's coins. You can spend them to unlock a microgame pack or to keep a run going.
Your daily streak counts the calendar days (in your iPhone's time zone) on which you finish at least one microgame. If you miss days and hold enough streak freezes, one freeze is used for each missed day and the streak continues; otherwise the streak starts again and you keep your freezes.
4. Thumbrot Premium subscriptions
Thumbrot Premium is optional. The whole game can be played without it. You can choose:
- Premium Weekly: an auto-renewable subscription with a 1-week period;
- Premium Monthly: an auto-renewable subscription with a 1-month period.
Both are in one subscription group, so you can hold only one at a time. The price is shown on the Premium screen in your local currency before you buy, and that price applies.
What Premium includes
- No interstitial ads and no sponsored cards.
- Unlimited hearts, so a run doesn't end when you lose.
- Your daily streak doesn't break when you miss days, as long as Premium is active when you play next, and no streak freezes are used.
- Every microgame pack.
Renewal and cancellation
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in the iOS Settings app › Apple Account (your name at the top) › Subscriptions. See Apple's help page. Deleting the game does not cancel a subscription.
- After you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We cannot issue refunds; you can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds or revokes a subscription, Premium ends.
- To get Premium back on a new or reset iPhone, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore Purchases on the Premium screen, in the Shop or in Settings.
5. One-time purchases
- Remove Ads (a one-time purchase) switches off interstitial ads and sponsored cards for good. Rewarded ads stay available if you choose to watch them. Restore Purchases brings it back on a new iPhone.
- Coin packs and streak freezes are consumable: they are added once to this iPhone and are not restored on a new device.
Prices are shown in your local currency before you buy. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple, as described in section 4.
6. Ads and sponsored cards
Thumbrot shows ads from Google AdMob and, now and then, cards for other developers' games. Every ad card is labeled “Ad” and every sponsored card “Sponsored”, and both have a Report button. Interstitial ads never appear in the middle of a microgame. Rewarded ads are always your choice: watch one to keep a run going, double a run's coins or open a locked pack for 24 hours. Tapping or installing a sponsored game never earns rewards. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for other developers' games; if you see anything inappropriate, report it in the game and tap Email the report (or write to alexandrustruta@gmail.com) so we can look into it.
7. Updates and availability
We may update the game to fix problems, improve it or change features, microgames or settings such as how often ads appear. We try to keep it working well but cannot promise it will always be free of errors or available on every device or iOS version. Changes that affect something you paid for remain subject to consumer law.
8. Liability
As far as the law allows, the game is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Romania. If you are a consumer living in the European Union or another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
10. Changes and contact
We will post changes here with a new date and give extra notice where the law requires it. Questions or support: alexandrustruta@gmail.com, or see the Support page.
